LOTZ OF STORY

Roy Lotz was born and raised in Austin, TX. He graduated from Gallaudet University in 2011 with a degree in Psychology. 

Growing up, one of his fondest memories was grilling Porterhouse and T-Bone steaks in his father’s backyard over a charcoal Weber grill. Upon graduation, Roy moved back to Austin and it did not take long for him to get nostalgic and go straight to cooking BBQ.

Hosting backyard gatherings with family and friends, it was then and there that Roy saw his future. His passion and dedication to BBQ kept growing. Everyone kept coming back for more BBQ and that strengthened his love and passion for cooking. It wasn't until Roy's first catering gig that he decided it was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. That first catering gig led to the formation of Lotz of BBQ.
